SHANTI STUPA (Leh, Ladakh – Incredible India)

It was the cold Wednesday morning when I made the wrong choice to fly from Srinagar to Leh but I didn’t know there was a blessing in disguise.  I booked Hotel Omasila in Leh,  Ladakh and from there my first stop was going to be  Shanti Stupa. The journey from my hotel to Shanti Stupa was amazingly beautiful with clear blue sky and the Leh palace in its background, shanti stupa looked more beautiful than I imagined. Shanti stupa was built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura. Shanti Stupa holds the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama himself.
